Mental Wellness Services
Seek Jesus Grow, LLC (SJG) offers online 1:1 mental health coaching and resources to give women techniques and goal-setting skills for their continued growth in mental wellness. My approach, which is based off of both professional training and personal experience, combines biblical, scientific, and holistic principles.
Mental wellness coaching serves people who are ready to pursue positive change. I teach you skills, give you tools and accountability, and show you a healthy process for pursuing growth in love. While traditional counseling tends to focus on the “why” and drawing connections from the past, coaching purposefully looks to the future and “how” to get there. Coaching at Seek Jesus Grow is not a place to circle problems or remain comfortable. Through my coaching process, we will give ample time and care to your current state of heart and health – but we will not stay there. At the right time, we will move forward. I will help you lovingly and honestly look at where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there. With the knowledge that we are already loved as we are, we will Seek Jesus and Grow toward God’s purpose for you.
If you are ready for true change – and if you are ready for the hard work and grace that change requires – then we could be a great fit.
Hello, and welcome to Seek Jesus Grow! Whatever brought you here, I pray you find hope and healing, if even in the simple fact that you can know you are not alone. I know what it is to suffer and to feel lost and anxious, to strive and tread water. There is hope. Please feel free to reach out and introduce yourself. I would love to get to know you, answer any questions you have, and perhaps help you find peace and clarity in the path God provides through the wilderness.

Our internal struggles manifest themselves in our spirits, minds, bodies, and relationships. Explore a variety of tools to help you feel whole, in every area of health.
But...I don't believe in God.
I wrestled with questions and doubt about God for years, but I felt like I wasn’t allowed to question, so I didn’t. This pressure I felt to believe… it kept me from true faith for a very long time. So, I have to ask: Do you truly not believe in God? Or have you simply never allowed yourself to examine your own heart and ask questions? Even if you have done that already, would you be willing to open up again, in a place free from judgement and expectation? Your faith is yours. Your journey is yours. What is the harm in exploring?
Coach - vs - Counselor: What's the Difference?
I am a Certified Mental Health Coach, not a counselor or therapist. I do not treat or diagnose mental illnesses, and I do not delve deeply into the past. Instead, through SJG’s coaching process, we intentionally look to the future and actionable change. By giving clients the tools they need to be successful, and by showing them how to use those tools to identify their own growth points, goals, and action steps, I help my clients pursue their own self-improvement. So, coaching with me is not just about getting through the current challenge: It’s about learning through it, and building both a reliance on God and a wellness tool base. My hope for my clients is that, when life throws more struggles their way — because it will — they will be able to look back at how Jesus brought them through and be confident that He will again. Laura Jennings, B.M.
Certified Mental Health Coach
Hello! I’m Laura, a Certified Mental Health Coach with a background in music education and a passion for helping others through life’s struggles.
I know what it’s like to feel unable to breathe because of a heavy pressure on my chest; to stare awake at night because of circling thoughts; and to feel hope because of a new “self help” method I can try, only to be disappointed by its all-too temporary relief.
When I say, “You are not alone,” I don’t just mean that from a statistic point of view, though the numbers are staggering, and it is true that we are in a global mental health crisis. I say that because I truly see you.
I can also tell you that there is hope.
That hope, though, is not found in exercise, bubble baths, journaling, or massages. While all of those things are wonderful, by themselves, they are still missing the foundation of true peace: God.
The world gives us so many “fixes”, even ones that sound healthy. But on their own, those have never been enough for me. In fact, often the piles of content only heightened my anxiety, as did the “You should try…” or “You need to…” suggestions from friends. To be honest, even the idea of me getting mentally healthy became its own pressure that I just didn’t have time to worry about.
I felt ashamed of my struggles and weakness, and I often denied their existence. I did the same when I experienced grief: I denied it. Anxiety grew and manifested in physical health problems. Expectations piled. I tried so hard to fulfill all of them, but it never felt like enough.
As someone who used to pride herself in being a perfectionist, that broke me. If I couldn’t be what everyone needed me to be, what was my worth? On the outside, everything looked great. What was wrong with me? Why wasn’t I happy?
Can I just tell you: Your worth is not defined by your ability to fulfill people’s expectations, even your own. It is okay that you cannot carry the weight of your life by yourself — in fact, you were never meant to.
At Seek Jesus Grow, LLC, you can expect compassion. Not because our suffering is the same — it isn’t. I strive to see you as you, and to hear you and your struggles, with the compassion that I craved in my own darkest moments. You can also expect a holistic approach bolstered by researched practices and personal experience. If you choose to work with me, know that we will not only pursue Jesus through prayer and talking, but also in action. Spiritual, physical, nutritional, emotional, relational, intellectual — by valuing every area of our health, we can biblically and healthily pursue full restoration in Jesus.
I encourage you to explore this website, to have an open mind, and to reach out if you have questions. I seek to serve and never to judge, in the hope that some of what has helped me may also help you. I hope that God will work through me, and that you will be inspired to truly, fully, and joyfully Seek Jesus and Grow.

find healing in
All Parts of Ourselves
Spirit
Our first focus will always be Jesus, to align our spirit with His. He is our true Counselor; His Word is our guide. When we surrender and seek God’s will, His peace will be with us (Philippians 4:9).
Mind
We challenge our minds with both learning and stillness. We explore, question, wrestle, and we rest; in all, we grow.
Body
Our bodies also need movement and rest. In finding this balance, listening to our bodies, giving ourselves the nutrients we need, and focusing on our breath, we support our physical health so that it can support us.
Relationship
It is not good for man to be alone. From the beginning, we were built for relationship with God and each other. Learning how to have healthy relationships takes work, grace, intentionality, and love.
You can find peace.
You don’t have to be alone in your journey.
